Seek and Bright set the Berlin buzz

Adjacent contemporary trade shows Seek and Bright got off to a lively start in Berlin today (july 8), confirming Bread & Butter’s mantle has been passed to its newer rivals.

Buyers from Asos.com, Urban Outfitters, JD Sports and TK Maxx were among those spotted in the busy aisles, although independents were thin on the ground.

Seek, which is owned by Berlin show Premium, is host to a range of UK brands including Fred Perry, Penfield, Boy London, Orlebar Brown and Native Youth, while the more hardcore skater-focused Bright includes Dr Martens and Mi Pac.

Richard Walshe, head of international sales at Fred Perry, said: “Between the two shows you’ve got the European streetwear scene pretty much covered. But the poor turnout of smaller buyers suggests they are not sure of what Berlin offers without Bread & Butter.”
