Selfridges launches designer skateboard push with skatepark launch

Selfridges is opening the UK’s biggest undercover skatepark tomorrow, and is selling 1,000 exclusively designed skateboards by designers including Stella McCartney and Christian Louboutin.

The pop-up space is open from March 27 until April 19 and is situated at the Old Selfridges Hotel on Orchard Street. It is being run in partnership with mobile handset company HTC.

The 18,500 sq-ft area will recreate interpretations of famous London skateboarding street spots, such as the Southbank’s Undercroft and the Big Ben Road Gap, and features ramps and jumps.

To coincide with the pop-up, HTC has also opened its first concept store at Selfridges, where shoppers can try the brand’s latest technologies.
