Selfridges promotes Alannah Weston to deputy chairman

Selfridges has promoted creative director Alannah Weston to deputy chairman of the group, which comprises Selfridges, Brown Thomas in Ireland, De Bijenkorf in the Netherlands and Holt Renfrew in Canada.

In her new role Weston will provide strategic advice and creative counsel across the group. She will report into her father, group chairman Galen Weston.

Weston has been creative director of Selfridges in 2004. Before joining, she was international head of press at Burberry.

Linda Hewson, director of creative and windows, will take over the role of creative director and report into UK managing director Anne Pitcher.

Galen Weston said: “I would like to congratulate both Alannah and the creative team at Selfridges for their huge contribution to our success and look forward to the new and exciting opportunities ahead.”
