Sexton arrives at Slacks & Co

Former Savile Row tailor Edward Sexton has joined women’s trouser brand Slacks & Co to oversee its autumn 08 range.

The autumn collection will be the brand’s second full range, but a spokesman said that Sexton’s arrival meant the business would be approaching it as a new launch.

“By committing to British and Italian mills, we have found the most luxurious wools and velvets,” said Sexton.

Sexton founded landmark tailoring shop Nutter’s on London’s Savile Row with the late Tommy Nutter in 1969. Customers included Mick Jagger and Elton John. Designer Stella McCartney worked as an intern for him.

After a year of research, Slacks & Co has defined two key body shapes for its female customers: the Chelsea with its curvy shape, and the more pencil-shaped Mayfair.

Prices for Slacks & Co’s autumn collection will range from £59 to £81. Call 020 7352 8694 for more information.
