UPDATED: Shop Direct Group’s trading director David Inglis has left the business as part of a management overhaul.
Inglis will be replaced internally by James Brown, previously commercial director for home and leisure. Brown is being promoted to the position as an interim measure whilst the management team structure is reviewed.
In January last year, Inglis was promoted from group buying and merchandising director to the new role of trading director. He has been at Shop Direct Group for two years.
A Shop Direct Group spokeswoman said: “As a business, we continually review our structure to ensure we have the best fit to meet the changing demands of our company. We have now created a management structure which will support our new multi-brand approach and, as a result, David Inglis has left Shop Direct Group. We would like to thank David for his contribution during his two years with our business and wish him success for the future.”
Inglis is understood to have been the driving force behind the launch of Very, Shop Direct’s new fashion website, which has a sales target of £500 million by 2014, as revealed by Drapers July 18.
