Bluewater had one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year so far as footfall rose 2.6% compared to the same weekend last year.
The Kent shopping centre saw a flurry of shoppers as the shoppers got in the festive mood with December beginning on Saturday.
General manager Robert Goodman said: “Christmas shopping at Bluewater has begun in earnest, with footfall 2.6% up on the same time last year. The payday weekend is one factor, but for many, December 1 is when Christmas really begins.
“Consequently, people are shopping at Bluewater en masse, with party outfits, Christmas decorations, toys and gifts being top sellers.”
Last week the Kent shopping centre saw footfall rise by 2% over the weekend as 330,000 visitors went to the centre.
