Shoppers in frenzy at H&M's Cavalli launch

Shoppers stripped rails in seconds at the launch of Roberto Cavalli's fashion range at H&M.

The range, which went into the high street chain's stores yesterday, included a gold sequined party dress, floor length metallic maxi dress and animal print bustier.

Security kept the queue of shoppers in order at the Oxford Circus store in London before the opening, but scrums similar to those at the launch of Kate Moss's collection for Topshop started when the doors were unlocked.

Sales staff were already restocking 15 minutes after the shop opened. Most people appeared to be buying for themselves rather than for ebay reselling, as queues for the changing rooms snaked around the store, with shoppers taking armfuls of the glitzy clothes inside.
