Exclusive: Simon Carter to open three new Indian franchise stores

British menswear business Simon Carter is opening three 1,200 sq ft franchise stores in India this year, Drapers can reveal. 

The eponymous brand currently has five standalone stores in the country, the first of which launched in Mumbai in Phoenix Market City.

Three more Indian stores will be opened between March and May this year with franchise partner Aditya Birla.

They will be based in malls in Jodhpur, Chennai and Kolkata. Denim will also be launched into the new stores. 

Simon Carter told Drapers: “I’ve always believed in the Indian market. It’s taken five years to do this deal and I’m so pleased that it has finally be finalised. I’m very excited and very proud, and will be going out to India in April to do a smile and wave.”

Retail prices in India, prices range between £40 for a shirt and £150 for a jacket.
