British heritage brand Kent & Curwen has appointed Simon Spurr as creative director and senior vice president.
Spurr succeeds Michael Sondag who left the company earlier this month. He will oversee product design, store development and marketing at the menswear brand with immediate effect.
The designer joins the business from Tommy Hilfiger where he was the menswear creative consultant, working on runway collections from 2009 until February 2012.
Prior to working at Hilfiger, Spurr ran his own eponymous menswear label from 2005 to 2012.
Kent & Curwen is owned by Trinity, a division of Fung Group, which also owns Gieves & Hawkes.
Trinity has licensed Kent & Curwen to British Heritage Brands for the US and European markets. British Heritage Brands is a unit of Star Branding, a brand management company part owned by Hilfiger.
The appointment follows the announcement that Kent & Curwen will open a 1,500 sq ft store at 2 Savile Row next month and a 2,100 sq ft New York flagship on Madison Avenue next spring.
