Skate and streetwear shows showcase spring 13

Alternative, skate and streetwear labels showcased their spring 13 collections featuring ’50s styles, vivid prints and plenty of gothic black at the LondonEdge and The Ledge trade shows this week.

The show, which kicked off on Sunday, will run until today at National Hall, Olympia.

Streetwear tradeshow LondonEdge, which for the first time consisted of sections dubbed Original and Fashion, featured around 275 brands including Longtime Gothic, Kreepsville, Daisy Dapper and Glamour Bunny.

Brands in the LondonEdge Original section showcased punk, rock and roll styles, whereas the LondonEdge Fashion section highlighted young fashion brands, focusing on vintage, retro and kitsch looks.

Skate show The Ledge launched a designated streetwear section for the first time. The Ledge housed 100 action sport, skate & lifestyle brands with around 50 streetwear brands also exhibiting in the stretwear section.

The Ledge labels included skatebrand Analog Clothing and Australian surfwear brand Rhythm Livin.

For a full report from the trade show, see next week’s magazine (14 September).
