Sloggi appoints new UK boss

Bodywear brand Sloggi has named Alex Cara as its new general manager for the UK, Nordic countries and the Benelux.

Cara will be leaving a senior vice-president position at the Pandora Group in Copenhagen to take the role, and has previously worked at Nike, Espirit and New Look in various general management positions.

Cara’s new role will be based in Sloggi’s London quarters.

A spokeswoman for Sloggi said his “strong track record in developing people” makes him “perfectly placed” to drive the brand’s northern European growth plans over the next few years.

Cara describes it as an “exciting time” for the brand as it prepares to launch both its 2018 strategy and several upcoming product innovations.

Sloggi, which is owned by the Triumph Group, has launched several comfort bras, replacing underwires with “fleximesh” fabrics, and plan to release both a “zero feel” bra in spring 18 and a comfortable activewear collection in autumn 18.
