Society of Shoe Fitters campaigns in support of footwear indies

The Society of Shoe Fitters will meet with Conservative MP George Freeman on January 30 to lobby him over the importance of supporting independent footwear retailers to stay in business and to provide a professional fitting service for customers.

The society is calling on its members and the public to write a letter in support of shoe retailers.

Society secretary Laura West said: “Our members can prevent a lot of pain and save health authorities money. Greater education will keep independent retailers afloat, supports companies manufacturing quality footwear, and create more jobs and apprenticeships for all age groups. There is a knock-on effect and some basic measures will mean a lot.”

Letters should be sent to secretary@shoefitters-uk.org before January 24.
