Footwear brand Solillas has launched a £150,000 crowdfunding campaign to fuel US expansion.
A former winner of the Best New Business award at the Drapers Footwear Awards, the Menorcan sandal brand is launching the fundraising on crowdfunding platform Seedrs for 10% equity.
The brand is launching in US department store Nordstrom and on Asos for spring 18, and will use the funding to establish a firm wholesale and retail presence in the US, as well as growing its website.
Solillas is also teaming up with fellow footwear brand Shoe The Bear to open a showroom at 113 Shoreditch High Street in east London in December.
Solillas founder Jonnie Matthew said: “Launching in Nordstrom is a huge step for the brand and really establishes our global reach. We want a chance for our customers, our followers, our fans and our friends to be a central part of the Solillas story.”
In July Solillas launched its first crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to raise £350,000 for 14% of the equity of the business.
Solillas was set up in 2009.
