Sophie Hulme and Dashing Tweeds to open at The Portman Estate

Two new independent fashion brands are set to open at The Portman Estate in Marylebone in June.

The Chiltern Street location will be the first independent boutique for luxury handbag brand Sophie Hulme, and follows the launch of a personalisation service at Burlington Arcade. The brand is currently stocked at Harrods, Matchesfashion and Selfridges.

Sophie Hulme is the latest independent accessories brand to open in the area, which is also home to eyewear and resortwear brand Prism by designer Anna Laub.

British menswear brand Dashing Tweeds has relocated its Mayfair boutique to Dorset Street, an area close to other menswear brands, including Hamilton & Hare, Trunk Clothiers and Sunspel.

The Portman Estate is comprised of 110 acres of Marylebone in London’s West End and includes 69 streets, 650 buildings and 150 shops and restaurants.

Philip Norris, head of retail at the Portman Estate, said: “Chiltern Street has established itself as a must-visit for specialist retail, following the arrival of some really exciting stores and the continued success of Marylebone’s independent retailers, such as Grey Flannel. We’re pleased to see this extend to the neighbouring Dorset Street with the arrival of Dashing Tweeds. We have no doubt these new stores will complement the offer in this corner of Marylebone perfectly.”
