South African clothing retailer Truworths has reportedly held talks about making a £300m bid for footwear chain Office.
The Johannesburg-based firm has approached management to discuss a takeover, according to The Sunday Times.
This would make it the latest in a list of companies to hold talks with the British retailer, which is being primed for a sale by its owner Silverfleet Capital.
Truworths has a market value of £1.7bn and runs stores across South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana and Botswana.
Office declined to comment.
