Spending squeeze as pay freeze hits

Retailers are facing another challenging year as UK shoppers are facing zero wage growth in 2018, a new report has found.

Think-tank The Resolution Foundation said workers are unlikely to get a pay rise during 2018, according to Sky News.

Non-essential goods, like clothing and footwear, are expected to be hit as inflation sees prices rise across the board.

The Resolution Foundation said real pay remains £15-a-week below its peak before the 2008 financial crash and is not expected to recover to its pre-crisis levels until 2025.
