Sports Direct agency Transline in rescue talks

A privately owned recruitment business is said to be nearing a deal to rescue the staffing agency that supplies some of the workers to Sports Direct’s warehouse in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.

Assist Resourcing, a subsidiary of Russell Taylor Group, is close to agreeing a takeover of Transline, Sky News reports. The agency filed notice to appoint administrators at the end of April.

Sources said Assist was keen to acquire Transline on the basis that Sports Direct remained as a major customer.
