Sports Direct has closed four of its nine concessions in Debenhams stores, it has emerged.
Two of the four closures are in the Debenhams flagship store on Oxford Street. The sportswear retailer now has five Debenhams concessions.
A Sports Direct spokesman said: ”The closures came as a direct result of overlap with locations for future or current flagship stores. We remain committed to developing our relationship with Debenhams.”
In August Sports Direct upped its stake in department store chain to 21.04% and founder Mike Ashley converted 10% of his stake to shares for the first time.
