Sports Direct snubbed by the big four accountancy firms

Sports Direct has reportedly been snubbed by the at least three of the big four accountancy firms as it searches for a new auditor.

EY, KPMG and PwC have all declined to participate in a tender process to replace Grant Thornton, Sky News reports. Grant Thornton is currently under investigation by the Financial Reporting Council for its conduct in Sports Direct’s 2016 audit.

Deloitte is also understood to have declined taking part in the process, the news outlet indicated.
