Stamford indie Energy turns 20

Stamford women’s and men’s wear independent Energy is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a refurbished store and a new focus on social media.

The retailer moved to its premises on Ironmonger Street in the Lincolnshire town 15 years ago. It prides itself on offering personal service and a diverse mix of brands.

Owner Sarah Sewell said: “It is tough being an independent retailer so we’re really pleased to have reached this milestone. We’re always introducing new brands like Yaya and we’ve recently brought French Connection back, alongside the likes of Adidas, Glamorous, Maison Scotch and A Postcard from Brighton.

“Store manager Clare Webb and I started the We Are The Energy Girls Instagram account about a year ago. It has been going really well and it’s a good way to show some personality as well as what we have in store. When we post something on there, we really do sell it. Last week we sent orders to Hong Kong and Slovakia.”

Energy unveiled a fresh new look with new fittings and floor last week and will introduce a refreshed logo later in the year.
