Stella McCartney looks for new stores as profits rise

Stella McCartney is eyeing new locations to add to the designer’s store portfolio, as sales increased by 11% to £31.6m and profit before tax rose from £4.9m to £5.6m for the year to December 31.

The luxury design house said it is working towards increasing its market share by identifying new opportunities for store locations along with investing in its current store portfolio, in accounts filed at Companies House.

The brand has 30 stores globally and opened new stores in Madrid in Spain, Beijing and Chengdu in China and Palo Alto in the US last year, according to The Telegraph.

“The directors are pleased with the company’s performance during the economic recession and are confident that the UK operations are well placed to take advantage of the new opportunities in a recovering market,” it said.

Following the success of its partnership with Adidas for the Great Britain kits for the 2012 London Olympics, Stella McCartney has renewed the deal for the 2018 Olympics in Rio.
