Stitch menswear show gears up for spring 11

Menswear trade show Stitch has announced revised dates and new features for its second season.

The second Stitch show will now take place on June 30 to July 1 at Old Billingsgate Market in London.

The organisers had originally added a third day to the show but said they decided to revert to two days after they realised that there is a Wolrd Cup fixture slated for July 2.

Stitch managing director Brian Duffy said: “There’s a match on that day, which may even be an England fixture. Exhibitors and buyers told us they would rather not work so we’ve taken that on board.”

For spring 11 Stitch will feature a new area for emerging menswear designers. The show has joined forces with Central Saint Martins College to showcase the work of its fashion design students.

The new area will be part of Stitch’s existing Vision zone – an area of the show dedicated to new British talent - which will once again be curated by fashion journalist Hywel Davies and Central Saint Martins’ Louise Wilson.

Stitch will also feature new areas for relaxation next season, including a gaming area sponsored by PlayStation and a men’s grooming area.

Brands signed up for the next Stitich include Bolongaro Trevor, Social Suicide, Original Penguin, King Baby, Farah, Chateau Roux, Dirtee Hollywood, Gabicci Vintage and Fenchurch.
