Stock shortages hit supply of J Brand Houlihan jeans

J Brand stockists placing orders for the denim brand’s Houlihan jeans will be unable to get their hands on them until September.

J Brand is unable to manufacture the £245 combat-style jeans fast enough to meet demand after endorsements by a string of celebrities, including actress Charlize Theron (pictured) and women’s magazines such as Grazia.

Some 8,000 pairs of the jeans have sold in the UK since the style launched in March - equivalent to nearly £2m worth of stock.

Vintage olive was the fastest- selling colour but J Brand has now sold out of all washes. They will all be available in September alongside an additional washed-out black, lightweight cotton version.

Three-store London denim specialist Trilogy, which launched J Brand in the UK, said it had sold about 100 pairs of Houlihan jeans a week at full price through just one of its stores.

Stockists could cash in on demand for the jeans in the same way that some did with Ugg Cardy boots when prices were increased from £110 to as much as £149.

So how long will it be before Grazia magazine changes its name to Houlihan magazine? They are featured in there every blimmin' week!
