Storm Katie hits Easter footfall

Wind and rain hit footfall on the high street over the Easter bank holiday weekend, with the number of shoppers on Saturday dropping 11.8% compared to last year.

For the full week to Saturday March 26 footfall on high streets across the UK dropped 1.8% year on year according to Springboard.

Shopping Centres saw an increase of 0.4% overall, while visitors to retail parks were up 5.5%.

Storm Katie brought winds of up to 106mph across the UK over the weekend.
