With a slower start to the morning, Pure London began to pick up in the the afternoon at the second day of the show.

South American drum beats and carnival dressed dancers livened up the pace near the main stage, although the menswear section was notably quieter than the womenswear sections.
While the chatter around womenswear at the show is that there was less footfall than in years past, Kat Hutchinson, production manager at womenswear brand Collectif said: “there have been many more orders.” Hutchinson explained, “We even had our first buyer from Korea yesterday.”
Also in the busy Spirit section of the show, Jessica Jensen PR manager for brands including Cherry Paris, said: “Yesterday was busy for us. We had quite a few UK and international buyers as well, including Forever 21 in the US. I think larger department stores are looking for lower costing items because we are seeing many more independents shops.”
“For us,” agreed Amy Kumar, director of womenswear brand Neon Rose. “It’s been a really good show even though it has become quieter than in recent seasons. With the addition of menswear and accessories, the feeling has changed slightly but it’s still a great place to show the collections so that buyers can see and touch the garments.”
Close by in the menswear section, Jonathan Jenkins, area sales manger of menswear brand Double Two, which is adding a new “modern” fit to the 76-year-old shirt company, said: “We have had mostly manufacturers pitch to us today and it is quieter than it was yesterday. Since the start we’ve have seven indie buyers, which is not many. But these shows are about networking, too.”
“It’s been tough but we are getting some good leads. We had a buyer from Tokyo yesterday,” agreed Paul Reynolds, sale executive of menswear brand Remus Uomo. “I’m not sure if it is because the sun is out or whether many people are on holiday, but it’s been quiet for menswear. Pure still seems to be a primarily womenswear driven show.”
