Stylus Fashion, the new forecasting service from WGSN founder Marc Worth, was formally launched in London on Wednesday to an audience of more than 250 people from brands and retailers.
Worth intends to work with just 50 companies in western Europe and 50 in the US on an invitation-only basis.
In an amusing keynote address on creativity, Sir John Hegarty, co-founder of the BBH advertising agency, urged the fashion industry to be bolder: “Fashion doesn’t dare enough to be different. There are no rules to creativity. What drives creativity is ideas. Sitting on a beanbag in Shoreditch does not make you creative.”
Among the guests at this inaugural event were Lulu Guinness, Andy Rubin of Pentland, Sally Heath from New Look, Wendy Malem of the Centre for Fashion Enterprise and Simon Bentley of Sports Direct.
Like Drapers, WGSN is part of Top Right Group.
