Superdry appoints video marketplace founder to board

Superdry has appointed the co-founder and chairman of video marketplace Unruly, Sarah Wood, to its board as a non-executive director.

Wood will take up the role from 1 October and will also join the remuneration committee on the same date.

Superdry chairman Peter Bamford said Wood comes from a very different background to the current directors and will increase the diversity of skills on the board significantly.

“Her experience in founding and running a highly successful, digital marketing and communications company will be invaluable in helping to deliver the next stage of our strategy towards becoming a global digital brand,” he said.

Wood founded digital video advertising technology business Unruly in 2006 and it was acquired by News Corporation in 2015. She was awarded an OBE for services to technology and innovation in June 2016.
