SuperGroup chief financial officer quits over bankruptcy

SuperGroup chief financial officer Shaun Wills has stepped down with immediate effect after news of his personal bankruptcy came to light.

He has been replaced by Nick Wharton, former Dunelm Group chief executive and former Halfords chief financial officer, on an interim basis from today.

Wills, who is also a director of the Superdry parent company, was declared bankrupt on February 10.

In a statement SuperGroup said: “This is a personal matter, on which SuperGroup will not comment further, and is wholly unrelated to the financial position of the company.”

Before joining the business in April 2012, Wills was chief operating officer at Habitat and finance director of Fat Face. He has also held senior roles at New Look and Debenhams.

It comes less than two weeks after SuperGroup chief operating officer Susanne Given stepped down from the board with immediate effect. She will leave the company at the end of August.
