Supergroup looks to West End for new flagship

Supergroup, the young fashion business which owns the Superdry brand and retailer and young fashion chain Cult, is mulling opening a new flagship store on London’s Oxford Street or Regent Street.

Supergoup, which floated in March last year, has a flagship store in Westfield shopping centre, but is understood to be looking for a more prominent store which can showcase its brand to overseas suppliers and visitors to the capital. It has enquired about two large sites on Oxford Street and Regent Street.

A spokeswoman for the fast-growing fashion group said it is always on the lookout for good store sites and it has made no secret of the fact that it would like a central London flagship to complement its existing Westfield shop.

Supergroup’s sales rocketed 86.9% to £81.7 million for its third quarter to January 30, boosted by strong underlying revenues and new store openings.

Supergroup has 59 standalone Cult and Superdry retail stores, 69 concessions and a growing wholesale operation.
