Young fashion business SuperGroup has appointed a duo of new non-executive directors, ahead of two stepping down next year.
Minnow Powell and Euan Sutherland will join the board with effect from December 1. Non-executive directors Steven Glew and Indira Thambiah will step down at the end of their three-year terms in February 2013.
Powell has worked at business consultancy firm Deloitte for 25 years and is a non-executive director at TUI Travel Group. He will also become chairman of the audit committee at SuperGroup.
Sutherland is group chief operating officer and a director of home improvement retailer Kingfisher. He was previously chief executive of AS Watson UK, owner of retailers Superdrug and Savers, and prior to this held senior positions with Matalan, Dixons, Coca-Cola and Mars. He is also a non-executive director at the Co-op Food Board.
Chairman Peter Bamford said: “The board and I wish to put on record our gratitude to both Steven and Indira for their high quality input and significant contribution to the success of SuperGroup through a period which has seen fast growth and considerable change.
“I am delighted to welcome Minnow and Euan who will, I am sure, give wise counsel and the benefit of their broad experience to the board through the next exciting phase of the company’s development.”
