SuperGroup has signed a five year franchise agreement with Demsa Group, to open a minimum of eight Superdry concept stores in Turkey.
Demsa Group, a retailer of luxury and lifestyle fashion brands, will open three Superdry stores by early next year, the first of which will open its doors at Istanbul’s Zorlu Project Mall in October.
In addition, Demsa Group will also carry Superdry within its Harvey Nichols department stores and luxury multi-brand concept stores Brand Room.
SuperGroup chief executive Julian Dunkerton said Demsa had an “excellent understanding” of the brand ethos.
He added: “Turkey is a territory that has held our interest for some time and our partnership with Demsa Group offers the perfect opportunity to enter this diverse and growing market.”
Cengiz Cetindogan, chief executive of Demsa Group, said the company wanted to broaden its portfolio of investments, adding SuperGroup presented the “perfect opportunity in the retail sector to partner with.”
The move follows last month’s news that SuperGroup has signed a 10-year distribution agreement with luxury and lifestyle fashion brand agent F J Benjamin to grow the Superdry brand in Malaysia and Singapore.
