SuperTrash relocates to Carnaby Street

Contemporary womenswear brand SuperTrash will relocate its only UK standalone store to 43 Carnaby Street in London’s West End in mid-September, to coincide with London Fashion Week.

The label will move from its store at 55 South Molton Street, which closed two weeks ago, to take advantage of Carnaby Street’s higher footfall.

The 861 sq ft store, a former WeSC unit, will be spread across two floors and will stock the full clothing, footwear and accessories offer from the brand.

The former SuperTrash unit on South Molton Street is expected to be occupied by French retailer The Kooples in the autumn, which will be relocating and upsizing from its existing store at 5 South Molton Street.

Kim Harmsen, international marketing and PR manager at SuperTrash, told Drapers the move was a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for the brand.

“We struggled a bit with footfall on South Molton Street so when this opportunity came up on Carnaby Street we jumped at it. The brands there [on Carnaby Street] are in line with what we do, it will be great for us.”

SuperTrash plans to open two or three more stores in the UK in 2015 in London as well as other major cities.
