Surge of interest in Internaçionale's IP assets pushes back deadline

The volume of interest in buying the intellectual property (IP) of value chain Internaçionale has seen the deadline for offers extended to this week, The Scotsman reports.

As Drapers reported last week, Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) is understood to be one of a number of parties to have expressed interest in buying Internaçionale’s IP assets, which includes its trademark, customer database and website content.

Other interested parties are thought to include high street retailers, private equity companies with retail portfolios and an Asian fashion group.

The deadline has been extended from last Friday until 4pm on Wednesday. The sale is being handled by Metis Partners.
