Sustainable brand Riley Studio appoints CEO

Ethical and sustainable fashion brand Riley Studio has appointed Olivia Dowie as its first CEO.

Dowie has joined the brand from luxury cashmere label Belinda Robertson, where she held the same role.

She joined Belinda Robertson in February 2017, and before that was head of business development at The Black Tomato Agency, which helps businesses design travel incentives and other rewards for internal and external use.

Riley Studio, formerly called Made by Riley, was launched by Istituto Marangoni graduate Riley Uggla in 2015.

Its gender-neutral collection of loungewear includes sweatshirts, hoodies and T-shirts, which are made of eco-friendly fabrics such as recycled plastic bottles, wood chip shavings and old fishing nets.

To date, Riley Studio has up-cycled an estimated 2,000 plastic bottles from oceans and landfills across the world and, by using recycled materials, has saved approximately 3,219 litres of oil.
