Sweaty Betty plans to expand into 50 store portfolio

Women’s sportswear retailer Sweaty Betty is ramping up its store presence, expanding to 50 UK stores over the next two years.

The chain already has 30 stores in sites such as Brighton, Oxford and Cambridge, but will now open in a selection of further locations including Glasgow, Manchester, Winchester and York.

Sweaty Betty will also increase its footprint in London with stores planned in Blackheath, Covent Garden, Dulwich, Marylebone, Spitalfields and Westbourne Grove.

Paul Souber, equity partner at the retailer’s property agents Briant Champion Long, said: “Sweaty Betty is a unique British brand born in Notting Hill in 1998. It designs, manufactures and retails its own products covering gym, yoga, snow and beach ranges and appeals to women with active lifestyles.

“This further phase of expansion will bring it to more strategic locations throughout the UK.”
