‘Take-back Tuesday’ to be busiest for returns

Tuesday 3 January will be the busiest day for online shopping returns, Royal Mail has predicted.

Returns are expected to jump by more than 50% compared with the average day in December.

Royal Mail based the forecast on data gleaned from its tracked returns service.

Clothing and footwear purchases are most likely to be returned.

Research by Royal Mail also suggests shoppers are most likely to return womenswear (30% of those surveyed), followed by menswear (17%) and footwear (16%). Only 7% return kidswear.
