TBC streetwear show is axed

Streetwear and casualwear show To Be Confirmed (TBC) has closed after the planned relaunch edition in February failed to garner brand support.

TBC was bought by exhibition company Idex Media just over a year ago. Idex Media cancelled the usual August edition in preparation of a full relaunch of the event at Old Billingsgate Market in east London early next year.

However, the difficult trading climate is understood to have impacted on exhibitor bookings at the show.

Idex Media, which also organises the Off-Price show, said in a statement it was now looking at "alternative concepts" to better suit the streetwear, denim and young fashion market.

Idex Media added: "Despite valued support for the show from many brands, we have seen hesitation and uncertainty across large parts of the industry, and have decided to look at alternative concepts and visions which we think will better suit the menswear and casualwear sectors as the market evolves."

Idex Media is understood to be offering a credit note to brands that had already committed to exhibiting at February's show.

Idex Media’s next edition of stock clearance show Off-Price takes place on March 15-16 at Olympia in London.
