Tesco bans cheques

Tesco will stop accepting cheques from February 25.

The UK's biggest supermarket is the latest in a line of major retailers to ban the use of cheques in stores.

Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Asda have already imposed the ban and Marks & Spencer will stop accepting cheques from March 1. M&S said it decided to ban cheques because their use is in decline.
