Tesco has launched an online network for suppliers to improve its communication with them and provide a platform for them to share ideas and address common challenges.
It comes after the supermarket announced plans to “regenerate relations with suppliers” in a trading statement for the 19 weeks to January 3.
Last week, a number of suppliers told Drapers of the ‘difficult’ working practices they had encountered while working with Tesco’s clothing arm F&F.
Members of the new Tesco Supplier Network will be able to learn more about the company’s strategy and connect directly with Tesco staff, as well as other suppliers.
Tesco has also this week narrowed down its search for a new chairman, Sky News reports.
It said Tesco has shortlisted Sir Ian Cheshire, the recently departed chief executive of Kingfisher, and John Allan, the chairman of housebuilder Barratt Developments, to replace Richard Broadbent.
