Tesco’s Jason Tarry shifts to chief product officer role

Tesco’s Jason Tarry has been appointed as chief product officer, just months after he was named group head of commercial as part of a management restructure.

The group head of commercial role was added to his existing responsibilities at the head of Tesco’s clothing arm F&F in December.

Tarry joined Tesco in 1990 on a graduate recruitment scheme and has held a number of positions in both food and non-food divisions, including clothing category director.

He was appointed chief executive of group clothing, with responsibility for UK and Republic of Ireland store and online operations, as well as overseeing F&F’s Asia business and franchise partnerships, in 2012. He joined the executive committee in January this year.

It is thought the latest move is to make way for Richard Price, the former managing director of BHS, who is set to join F&F. Price’s exact job title is not yet known, but reports suggests he will become chief executive.
