The Apprentice star kicks off £100k crowdfund campaign

Bianca Miller, runner-up in last year’s series of The Apprentice, is launching a crowdfunding campaign to raise £100,000 for her hosiery brand.

Through US-based crowdfunding site Indiegogo, Miller will allow people to pre-order the autumn 15 collection of her Second Skin tights brand at a discounted rate of two for £13, rather than the normal retail price of £8.99 each. The collection features tights and lace hold-ups in eight nude tones.

Miller intends to take advantage of interest from people who saw her on The Apprentice, as well as independents, department stores and etailers.

“It’s a good opportunity to test the market,” she explained. “We have had a lot of interest from people outside the UK, so the online crowdfunding gives them – and UK shoppers – a chance to buy into the brand early and at a discounted rate. It’s about getting the name out there.”

The site will launch on May 12 and run for 40 days. Miller intends to use the £100,000 to fund marketing and production for spring 16.

She hopes to attract stockists including, and department stores John Lewis and House of Fraser.
