The Cambridge Satchel Company creates new sales role

Leather accessories brand The Cambridge Satchel Company has appointed Neil Barton to the newly created role of corporate sales manager, effective immediately.

Barton joins from Harrods where he worked for seven years, most recently in corporate sales, sourcing gifts from around the store for multinational companies.

Commenting on his new role, Barton said: “The most frequent request I received from my customers at Harrods was for products which are quintessentially British, of a high quality and affordable – this proved to be surprisingly difficult.  To now be working for a company that embodies all of those values, as well as producing handmade products by our own craftsmen, is extremely exciting.”

Earlier in the month, The Cambridge Satchel Company opened its first men’s store in the Seven Dials shopping area in London’s Covent Garden.

As revealed by Drapers in a recent feature, the business is also working with the Bridge of Weir tannery in Renfrewshire to develop a small leather accessories range.
