The Hambledon wins top gong at the Drapers Independents Awards 2016

The Hambledon has been crowned Independent Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Independents Awards 2016.

The Winchester-based retailer also won Lifestyle Independent of the Year. The ceremony was held at The Brewery in the City of London this afternoon.

Womenswear Independent of the Year (sponsored by Frank Lyman Designs) went to Katie & Jo, while Menswear Independent of the Year was given to Liquor Store.

Base was named Best Independent Multichannel Operator (sponsored by VisualSoft), while Galvin Tullamore won in new category for 2016 Best Customer Experience in an Independent Retailer. Childrensalon was highly commended in the latter.

Biscuit Clothing won Best New Business, and Mish was named Niche Fashion Retailer of the Year.

Psyche was given the accolade for Best Store Design. Fashion Agency or Distributor of the Year went to Claret Showroom.

Menswear Brand of the Year went to Remus Uomo, while Braintree Clothing won the gong for Womenswear Brand of the Year. Veja took home the award for Niche Brand of the Year, another new category for 2016.

The Drapers Independents Lifetime Achievement Award went to Richard Finlay, former managing director of menswear business Douglas & Grahame.
