Shira Suveyke, the former executive vice-president and chief merchant for The Outnet, has been appointed brand president of Shopbop.
She will be responsible for the marketing, creative, buying and planning teams at Shopbop and East Dane, reporting directly to chief executive Kim Fleissner.
Suveyke started her role at the Yoox Net-a-Porter outlet site in 2015, and was vice-president for global buying at The Outnet for four years from 2011. She previously held senior roles at Gilt Group and J Crew.
Fleissner said Suveyke brings “invaluable product and digital knowledge” to the company.
US-based etailer Shopbop was founded in 2000, offering contemporary and designer womenswear labels, and East Dane launched in 2013 offering a similar assortment for men. In 2006 Bop LLC, the parent company, was acquired by Amazon.
Emma Mortimer was named managing director of The Outnet in May.
