The White Company saw Christmas sales soar 12% for the 10 weeks to December 29, with like-for-likes 7% ahead.
The lifestyle retailer said that its retail stores had performed particularly well with sales ahead 17% of the same period the previous year while online sales rose 27%.
The White Company said it was confident that it would report sales in excess of £70 million for the year to March 2008. This will be on top of a strong performance in 2007 when the company saw sales rise 24% to £61.3m for the year to March 31 2007.
The White Company managing director Patricia Alford-Burnett said: “Sales growth has come across all product areas, including a strong performance from clothing and gift. Gross margin has increased and the performance of our retail stores has been particularly pleasing.”
She added: “We have a strong and highly differentiated multi-channel lifestyle brand, providing an edited collection of everyday luxury and style, principally in white. Our focus will continue to be on enhancement of our customer experience, across all channels, and delivering stylish product of the finest quality and outstanding value for money.”
