Theresa May will host a Downing Street reception for fashion designers and industry insiders this evening, ahead of London Fashion Week.
May will host the event alongside Natalie Massanet, chair of the British Fashion Council. Those attending are being encouraged to bring apprentices with them.
The event continues the tradition set up by Samantha Cameron, wife of former prime minister David Cameron, in her role as ambassador for the BFC.
Past guests include Vogue’s Anna Wintour, designer Christopher Kane and model Naomi Campbell.

Good to see new PM continue precedent established by last PM's wife. It would, however, be better if new PM ensured that account was taken of the needs of the UK fashion industry in the upcoming Brexit negotiations. Unless this is done receptions at No. 10 will count for little.
