This week in history...

…H&M opened its first COS (Collection of Style) stores on London’s Regent Street this week in 2007.

H&M’s first concept outside of its traditional fast fashion model was designed to serve shoppers wanting fashion classics with a twist. Retail prices run from around £20 to £240 for men’s suits.

H&M has gone from strength to strength since the launch of COS. It now has 14 stores across Europe, including three in London and there are plans for several more openings.

Last year H&M saw Q4 sales rise 15% to SEK 26.3 billion (£2.3bn), helping the Swedish fashion group to an 11% increase in full year profit to SEK 21.1BN (£1.8bn).
