Three Tesco executives leave following accounting scandal

Three of the eight Tesco executives who stepped aside after a £260m profit misstatement came to light in autumn are thought to have formally left the business.

Group commercial directorKevin Grace, UK finance director Carl Rogberg, and UK food commercial director John Scouler, left on Wednesday, the Financial Times reports. The fate of the five other suspended executives, including UK managing director Chris Bush and sourcing director Matt Simister, is not known.

It is understood Grace has denied any wrongdoing, while the others involved could not be reached for comment.

The profit misstatement is now the subject of a criminal investigation by the Serious Fraud Office.
