TK Maxx owner TJX Europe has appointed former head of external brands at Republic, Les Dales, as buying manager of its menswear division.
Dales will replace Andy Dance, who has been promoted to overall buying director at TJX Europe.
Dales held his position at young fashion retailer Republic for just shy of a year, leaving in March 2013 shortly after it was bought out of administration by Sports Direct.
Before working at Republic he was head of menswear at home shopping retailer Joe Browns and a senior buyer for menswear and sportswear at department store Fenwick.
TJX Europe confirmed Dales’ appointment but declined to comment further.
His move comes as the business expands in the UK and Europe. In the three months to November 2, TK Maxx added 17 shops to its UK and Republic of Ireland store portfolio, including a flagship in Covent Garden.
TJX Europe expects to open a further 32 stores in Europe next year across TK Maxx and its homeware fascia HomeSense.
Adjusted net sales for TJX Europe increased 14% to $964m (£596m) for the three months to November 2.
