MAN, the menswear support scheme sponsored by Topman and Fashion East, has announced its designer line up for London Collections: Men in January 2015.
Returning designers Liam Hodges and Nicomede Talavera will be joined by Central St Martins gradate Rory Parnell-Mooney during the catwalk show at the men’s fashion event, which runs from January 9-12.
In addition to a catwalk presentation at the Topman Showspace on New Oxford Street, designers receive financial sponsorship, ongoing business support and a place in international sales showrooms in Paris.
The winners are also provided with one-to-one mentoring from a panel that includes Charlie Porter, Financial Times; Gordon Richardson, Topman; Luke Day, GQ Style; and Sam Lobban, Mr Porter.
Director of Fashion East Lulu Kennedy spoke of the returning designers’ ability to “translate their aesthetic into great product that’s been picked up by the most prestigious international stores”.
Peter Jensen, head of menswear on Central St Martin’s MA course, added that Parnell-Mooney “has a great sense for fashion, texture, shapes and he’s forward thinking”.
Previous MAN-supported designers include JW Anderson, Christopher Shannon, Agi & Sam and Craig Green.
